Hardware Freezing for a few seconds at a time
I have a NWA130BE that is acting up. All wireless traffic will drop at random times and during
those few seconds (10 to 20 seconds) I am unable to access the web interface from a wired lan connection as well.
diagnostic file has downloaded by Zyxel Melen
I have uploaded the diag info that was collected from right after one of these freezes. It is actually tar.bz2 file which the forum does not allow.

Hi @hcker2000
Could you provide the issue client's MAC address and the issue time? With these information, we can better investigate this issue.

Here is the mac address for the hardwired lan computer that could not access the web interface.
10:FF:E0:32:7E:70
Here is one of the wireless clients mac addresses that were also dropped.
82:14:42:01:65:4c

Hi @hcker2000
Thanks for the information. After checking, the client traffic dropped because the client (82:14:42:01:65:4c) was under Intra Roaming. When the client under Intra Roaming, the internet will shortly disconnect. Therefore, the AP probably didn't encounter the hardware freezing issue.
However, in your case, this client was doing Intra Roaming many time in short time range. I will help to check how to improve this.
About the issue you can't access the AP, this could related to other issue, which I can't address by AP diagnostic file only. Please help to ping the AP once the issue happens again.

Would there be any settings I could adjust to reduce the Intra Roaming?

This is not likely to be the issue, but something to consider may be power.
I've troubleshot similar issues down to poor power management. The company positioned a large copier on the same power circuit as the POE switch that powered the WAPs. The switch was plugged straight into the wall rather than into a UPS.
Every time the printers fuser powered up the circuit would brown out but not cause other devices to loose power entirely. The desk lamp lights would flicker and the WiFi would disconnect. :) You'd have thought they'd have noticed the lights first but no, they only cared about their internet.

Interesting idea I can keep an eye out for other things that are powering up near the same time.

Hi @hcker2000
When the clients begin implementing roaming mechanisms, threshold conditions vary depending on the manufacturer's implementation. If the environment experiences frequent intra-roaming behavior overall, this may be related to signal coverage deployment.
Because of that, please help to ensure the following:
- First, ensure that signal coverage is sufficient (client signal strength > -65 dBm). If both 5 GHz and 6 GHz signals are weak, it's recommended to change the AP deployment location and observe whether there's an improvement.
- If the signal remains weak after adjustment, you can suggest that users add APs to avoid weak signal connections reaching terminal roaming behavior penalties and frequent roaming affecting user experience.
- (This should be your case) If devices frequently roam between 2.4 GHz and 5/6 GHz, it's recommended to tune the radio power by reducing the 2.4 GHz radio power by an additional 3 dBm and observe whether intra-roaming behavior improves.
- *Client roaming is more of a client behavior, with APs being the passive party. Assuming deployment and wireless signal coverage have already been adjusted by the user, and roaming is still overly sensitive and frequent, you can try to confirm whether there are roaming aggressiveness-related settings on the terminal device that can be adjusted (e.g., Windows > Network adapter advanced settings).
If there are any further issues that need to be clarified, please help to collect the diagnostic file when the issue happens, the timestamp, and the client's MAC address for further investigation.

I will adjust the 2.4ghz down 3dBm and see what happens.

Looks like I am still getting this issue after dropping it by 3dBm. All wireless traffic drops out at the same time.

Hi @hcker2000
Thanks for the update. May I know if you collected the diagnostic file when the issue happened? I will send you a new private message for it.
In addition, collecting the diagnostic file when the issue happens can help record the logs associated with the issue. If collected after the issue, the logs might be overwritten by other logs.
