Losing data in connection usage
Hello everyone,
when you want to see how much traffic a device had used during last 30 days and you select an app (for example Instagram):
And you have a change in DHCP (so same MAC address and different IP) there is NO way to see which was the traffic done with that MAC address with x.x.x.10 IP and which traffic was done with x.x.x.3 IP.
If you click on both Galaxy names (with x.x.x.10 or x.x.x.3 IPs) you see only x.x.x.3 data (because this is the most recent IP that the device received via DHCP):
This is a bug, how can I fix it?
I need the complete logs and graphs of traffic done with my networks.
Thanks in advance

Hi @GiuseppeR
Please help to enable Zyxel support access and tell me the organization's name. I will help to check this issue.

Hi @Zyxel_Melen
sent you details and remote access via PM

IP/MAC binding to lock the IP on a given device would be the only way.
Or you can have options for Nebula like track by MAC's only but list the IP's the device has had or track by IP only but list the MAC's this IP has had.

When you manage wide networks it is uncomfortable to assign MAC/IP manually.
So it would be better to have detailed traffic considering MAC/IP and the time that you are viewing.

Hi @GiuseppeR
Thanks for the privilege. This issue arises because the client object is based on IP & MAC addresses. Since the IP address for this client has been changed, Nebula treats it as a new client. Additionally, you can still check the application of this client with the previous IP address. Please navigate to the client page > firewall client and select the specific period you want to check, then you can find this client with the previous IP address. I will also send you a video as a guide.

Hi @Zyxel_Melen
I see it, it's great.
Does Zyxel plan to fix the issue directly from here:
Or it is better to memorize the other path?

Hi @GiuseppeR
Thanks for your input. For this design, we are still clarifying for the next step. I will update once I get any further information.

Hi @GiuseppeR
This case has a design limitation: it is an AP client on the all client page, from which the application will retrieve the data. The AP client is only filtered by MAC address, which causes the Nebula redirect to point to the latest client object. Since that, we will evaluate this case and see what we can improve.

Hi @Zyxel_Melen
could it be helpful for you to still have the priviledge to access that ORG to improve that?

Hi @GiuseppeR
Since we know how to replicate this scenario, it is ok for you to disable the support privilege.
