📝 How to Join the Program

Step 1: Go to Zyxel Marketplace, click the Trade-Up Program button in the navigation menu, read the Terms & Conditions, tick the agreement box, and click ‘Confirm’.

Step 2: Select the Legacy USG firewalls you’d like to trade up, then click ‘Next’.

Step 3: Choose the corresponding USG FLEX H device and the appropriate licenses for each firewall selected. Then click ‘Continue’ to proceed.

Step 4: Fill in your shipping information, then click ‘Confirm Order’.

Step 5: Review your order details and pricing, agree to the Privacy Policy, and proceed to checkout.

(1) Eligibility

Supported Countries: The program is available for shipping addresses within the European Union (EU), the United Kingdom(UK), and the United States (US).

Eligible Devices: Only existing legacy USG Series, USG FLEX Series, ATP Series and VPN series devices qualify to participate in this program.

License Eligibility: Existing devices must have fewer than 1098 days remaining on their license.

Program Limitation: Each device is eligible to participate in the Trade-Up Program only once.

License Migration: Upon joining the Trade-Up Program, you have a one-time option to migrate licenses (excluding Next Business Day Delivery (NBDD) and Hotspot) from the original device to the new device as a Gold Pack License.

(2) Some services are not eligible for migration, including: Quantity-based licenses and Time-based licenses such as Geo Enforcer, Nebula Plus, Next Business Day Delivery, and Hospitality Pack.

(3) Program Notice: Please note that Zyxel may update the Trade-Up Program terms and conditions as needed to ensure the best experience for our users.

    You can't seriously expect anyone to switch to the H series with half the features missing in comparison to the old Flex series

    We have a few old USG firewalls and so a trade-up could be interesting. However, Switzerland is excluded from the program. Also I had the impression that I could read this line wrong:
    ✨Trade in your legacy USG and get a FREE USG FLEX H firewall with a 3-Year Gold Security Pack License.

    Either you trade-in your old firewall and get a free Flex H firewall including a 3-year gold security pack or, you can trade-in your old firewall and get a free Flex H IF you buy a 3-year gold security pack.
    Well, the first is too good to be true and the second one, which is the correct one, my customers don't want to pay for. So too bad, no deal.

    As for the Flex H Series itself, I am not so convinced it is a trade-up, more a trade-down. Yes, firewall/UTM seems to be faster but the few I installed all had bugs and missing features. The local configuration is extremely slow compared to previous series. Not to mention the constant "apply" buttons. Only 1 Remote Access VPN can be setup and for some reason multiple firewalls require a regular reboot to prevent them from hanging. Btw reboot, the older firewalls need up to 1 minute to reboot, the 50H, 100H and 200H take 5 minutes?? What is it doing there?
    The need for Nebula is offensive to me. Cloud based management of a securityproduct like this makes me nervous (like with the Microsoft MS365 master-key(s) that were "misplaced" and allowed easy access to tenants).
    As MikeForshock and AMI wrote, it is more an unfinished beta-product then a full replacement. If I run into one more major bug, I will start investing time in finding another brand. This costs too much time and feels like Windows XP before SP3 or Win7 before SP1 (ok, or Windows 11).
    </rant>

    Come on Zyxel, you are rapidly loosing an otherwise good name here. Make this a stable fully functional firewall-product.
