Zyxel WiFi Showing Strong Signal but Experiencing Random Connection Drops
I have a Zyxel access point set up at home and while the signal strength looks good, I still experience random drops in connection, especially when multiple devices are connected at the same time. Streaming and video calls are the most affected. I have already tried changing channels and updating firmware, but the issue still comes and goes. Has anyone faced a similar problem or found a reliable setting or solution that improved overall WiFi performance.

Hi apklub,
This issue could be caused by several factors. Even if your laptop shows a strong signal, the access point (AP) might not be able to receive your laptop’s signal properly, as laptops usually transmit at a lower power level.
How far are you from the AP? Are there any brick walls or other obstacles in between?
It’s also worth checking whether there’s any pattern to the disconnects, such as microwave usage during the issue happens. Interference from neighboring networks or other wireless devices in the area can cause this behavior. If possible, try using the 5 GHz band, as it is typically less congested than 2.4 GHz.
