I am using a XMG1915-10EP switch. When I select Monitor→Neighbour the list only contains the uplink to the router and one Zyxel Access Point. All other devices are not shown.

How to change this behaviour to see directly attached Switch ?

    Hi @beekeeper,

I understand you're seeing limited neighbor information on your XMG1915-10EP switch and want to know how to get all directly attached switches to appear.

Here's some information regarding neighbor discovery on Zyxel switches and steps you can take:

    • Understanding Neighbor Discovery: Zyxel switches use protocol such as Link Layer Discovery Protocol (LLDP) to discover and display information about directly connected devices. If the connected switches do not support or have this protocol enabled, they may not appear in the neighbor list. The Zyxel One Network (ZON) Utility uses the Zyxel Discovery Protocol (ZDP) to discover Zyxel devices within the same broadcast domain.
    • Managed vs. Unmanaged Switches: Unmanaged switches, such as the Zyxel MG-108, do not have a web interface or support for device discovery via tools like Nebula or ZON. Therefore, if your other directly attached switches are unmanaged, they will not appear in the neighbor list of your XMG1915-10EP.
    • XMG1915-10EP Operating Mode: Your XMG1915-10EP can operate in standalone or Nebula cloud mode. The behavior of neighbor discovery might be influenced by the operating mode.

To help us further investigate and provide more specific guidance, please provide the following information:

    • Firmware Version: What is the current firmware version running on your XMG1915-10EP?
    • Model of Directly Attached Switches: Please provide the specific models of the other switches that are not showing up in the neighbor list. This will help determine if they are managed or unmanaged and if they support discovery protocols.
    • Network Topology Map: A simple diagram showing how your XMG1915-10EP is connected to the router, the Zyxel Access Point, and the other switches would be very helpful.
    • Screenshot of Neighbor List: A screenshot of the "Monitor → Neighbor" list from your XMG1915-10EP's web interface.
    • Nebula Information (if applicable):
      • If your XMG1915-10EP is managed by Nebula, please enable Zyxel Support Access via Help > Support Request in the Nebula console.
      • Provide the Organization and Site name from your Nebula account. This will allow the Zyxel support team to view your cloud environment configuration and expedite troubleshooting.
