    Update:

This behavior is related to how WiFi networks operate. In scenarios where someone already knows the SSID password, there is a potential risk that may apply to common WiFi environments, including Zyxel deployments.

To reduce the risk, we recommend:

    • Avoid sharing or exposing Wi-Fi passwords
    • Use stronger password and rotate credentials regularly
    • Use a VPN when accessing sensitive services over public WiFi

We are currently reviewing this topic and evaluating possible improvements. There is no ETA at this time.
Any updates will be shared in the WirelessLAN New Release section on Zyxel Community.
