Had some time now and has been fine. Last few days I have had to reboot once, maybe twice a day at random times as connection is lost. Now surprisingly for the UK we have had some rather warm temps locally up to 37 deg C. Could this be a factor? I am sure some of these must be in hotter climates. I am going to try a different sim but thought I would check on here first.

Still undecided what is at fault. Fault went away but is now back

Pointing the finger of blame at the router now. Have changed the SIM with same problem occurring.
Anything before deciding to get a new router?

If you managed to get the root access, you can monitor the temperatures of the modem module when this happen, if the whole system is not unresponsive at all, with the AT+QTEMP command. However, the temp threshold of EG18 to have reduced performances is around 100°C, so I find it unlikely that you can have this issue.
Do you have the possibility to swap the PoE injector? Did you install the latest device firmware? Which modem module firmware do you have presently installed?0
