Zyxel Multy U (WSR30)

Subject: Zyxel Multy U (WSR30) – Setup completes with Internet access but fails at the final step, preventing Mesh pairing

Dear Zyxel Support Team,

I need your assistance with my Zyxel Multy U (WSR30) mesh system.

Device Information

• Model: Zyxel Multy U (WSR30)
• Number of devices: 2
• Serial Number (Main Unit): S193F01001462

Problem Description

After performing a factory reset on both Multy U devices, I attempted to configure the system again using the latest Zyxel Multy Android application.

The setup process behaves as follows:

1. The primary Multy U is detected successfully.
2. The Internet cable is connected correctly to the WAN port.
3. Wi-Fi SSID and password are created successfully.
4. Internet access works correctly through the newly created Wi-Fi network.
5. At the final step of the installation, the application displays "Setup Failed".
6. After this error, the application returns to the initial setup screen as if no configuration exists.
7. Because the setup never completes successfully, I cannot add the second Multy U device to the mesh network.

Troubleshooting Already Performed

• Factory reset performed on both devices multiple times.
• Tested with different Android devices (Samsung phone and Samsung tablet).
• Bluetooth, Location, and Nearby Devices permissions were enabled.
• Tried both Wi-Fi and mobile data during setup.
• Swapped the two Multy units to rule out hardware failure.
• Verified the WAN Ethernet connection.
• Confirmed Internet connectivity works after setup, despite the final error.

The problem is always exactly the same:
The Wi-Fi network is created, Internet access works, but the application reports "Setup Failed" at the final stage, preventing mesh configuration.

I understand that the WSR30 is now an End-of-Life product. However, I would like to know whether this issue is caused by:

• an expired device certificate,
• outdated firmware,
• discontinued cloud services,
• or another known issue.

If necessary, could you please provide:

1. The latest firmware for WSR30.
2. USB or recovery firmware and recovery instructions.
3. Any solution that allows these two WSR30 devices to be paired again as a mesh system.
