Activation Error 70: Internal Error
Freshman Member
I have a large fleet of 100+ devices, which use Zyxel SecuExtender to connect to an enterprise network. When upgrading these devices to run newer operating systems, we reinstall Zyxel SecuExtender, and try to reactivate the same licenses, which as far as I am aware, were lifetime licenses, or if not, 3-year licenses, not past expiry. I regularly encounter Activation Error 70: Internal Error, and want to get this figured out. We are using SecuExtender v7.7.5008, which looks to be up to date. The issue occurs on managed LAN as well as unmanaged hotspot.

Hi @jrkendall ,
It looks like the license keys are still locked to the previous OS installation and require a backend reset. Please send us the list of license keys privately, and we'll help reset them.

Hi @jrkendall ,
Here's an important clarification: The registration period for the SecuExtender perpetual license ended on 31 March 2023. Please refer to this article to know more detail:

For any of the SecuExtender 3-year licenses that are still valid and encountering Activation Error 70: Internal Error, could you please provide the tgbcode file generated during the activation attempt? This will allow us to investigate the issue further.
