"Failed to delete" on folders

I am trying to delete some folders using the web file browser.  All the files were created in Windows.  I repeatedly get "Failed to delete".  I can delete them from Windows but we are talking terabytes of data in tens of thousands of files so it takes forever.

You can access to the NAS by using ssh and remove the folder one by one.
Do not remove a big file at once, it may take a lot of time.
