I bought a new LTE7490, turns out it's LTE7490-M904-EU04V1F (Italian version).
It has firmware 1.00(ABZK.0)C0. What is the date of this firmware?

The common European version is LTE7490-M904-EU01V1F, and the latest firmware for it is V1.00(ABQY.3)C0:
https://www.zyxel.com/support/DownloadLandingSR.shtml?c=gb&l=en&kbid=M-03273&md=LTE7490-M904#searchZyxelTab4

It seems the Italian LTE7490 has firmware lock, as I can't update to the latest version using the 100ABQY3C0.bin file. Getting message: "Warning Image uploading failed. You may press 'Cancel' to upload another firmware image file, or press 'OK' to reboot to recover normal operation."

How to bypass the firmware lock by e.g. SSH/telnet ?

Does the firmware also have SSH/telnet lock? I can't enable these checkboxes:

Thank you for any help!

    Hello @June6

In terms of software naming that Zyxel use, the ABQY is used as the stock firmware tree for the LTE7490-M904.
           - ABZK.0 would then represent a reseller specific branch of that stock firmware tree, and the 0th version of that branch.
                - the versions with the higher number after the 4 letters are the newer releases.

You cannot use the ABQY firmware in your device, unless you reflash it completely in a way similar to this at OpenWRT for a different device https://openwrt.org/toh/zyxel/zyxel_vmg5313-b30a by opening the case.

I think that it would be worth you contacting the seller of your device or Zyxel Italy https://www.zyxel.com/it/it/

    Kind regards,
        Tony

Thank you for the info, I returned the Italian version and bought a proper generic LTE7490.

Edit: Got it, and the firmware is now updated. Also SSH/Telnet checkboxes now work.
