How to boot a NSA325V2 from USB

Hello,

I wanted to reactivate my NSA325V2 for some testing.

Is there any way to start the NSA using an USB-Stick? I built the USB-sticks using unetbootin using different configurations and tried all three USB-ports but nothing worked.

Thanks in advance,

Norbert

Nope. The box doesn't have a BIOS, so it can't handle unetbootin generated boot sticks. It is possible to configure the bootloader (u-boot) to load it's kernel and initramfs from an usb stick, but you'll need serial access, and a kernel which is explicitly compatible with the ‘325. Just any distro won’t work.

If you are interested in installing Debian on that box, I refer you to https://forum.doozan.com/

  • Yes, using some kind of Debian was my idea.

    Thanks for the information, Norbert
