Zyxel Networks is introducing changes to our security appliance licenses to better align with our evolving product offerings. The USG FLEX and ATP series will now come with the Gold Security Pack, and our security routers will feature the new Elite Pack license. Here’s everything you need to know about these updates:

Introduction to the Elite Pack License

The Elite Pack license, formerly known as the SCR Pro Pack, is being rebranded and expanded. This license applies to the following models:

• SCR 50AXE
• USG LITE 60AX

The Elite Pack license is available in three durations:

• 1 Month
• 1 Year
• 3 Years

Features

The Elite Pack license unlocks premium security services, including:

• Content/Web Filtering
• Premium Ransomware Prevention
• Nebula Professional Pack

By purchasing the Elite Pack, users no longer need to buy the Nebula Pro or Nebula Plus Pack licenses separately.

Ransomware Prevention: Standard vs. Premium

Standard Ransomware Prevention

• Signature Database: Local only
• Updates: Periodically downloads the latest signatures from the cloud
• Limitation: Limited by the device's hardware capacity (e.g., memory)
• Priority: High-activity malicious sites are prioritized for local storage
• Update Frequency: Every two days

Premium Ransomware Prevention

• Signature Database: Local and cloud-based queries
• Updates: Periodically downloads signatures and queries the cloud in real-time for unknown hosts
• Advantage: Not limited by device capacity; unlimited cloud-based query capacity
• Update Frequency: Every two days with real-time cloud query

The Premium Ransomware Prevention offers a significant advantage by providing real-time protection and overcoming the local signature database limitations.

License Transferability

The Elite Pack license can be freely transferred between the SCR 50AXE and the USG LITE 60AX, ensuring flexibility for users who might need to switch devices.

Conversion of Existing SCR Pro Pack Licenses

Existing SCR Pro Pack licenses will automatically convert to the Elite Pack license as of March 26, 2024. This conversion allows users to enjoy the new features and transfer the license between supported models.
