Hello everyone,

I'm used to setup devices in DHCP inside my networks, a part from some important items that have reserved IPs.

When I explore my Clients' list in Nebula I see a lot of NICs without an assigned IP:

Anyway I'm sure, to give you an example, that the second to last in the list you see is the x.x.x.125 inside my network but Nebula does not display that value.

How can I fix that?

    Hi @GiuseppeR ,

In Nebula client list, IPv4 address are collected from LLDP information, Nebula Access point or Nebula Security gateway in the site.

The reason your Nebula Switch doesn't show some client's IP address is that clients don't support LLDP. To resolve this, please ensure that the devices connected to the switch support LLDP and LLDP include IP.

To verify LLDP support on your devices, please perform a packet capture and check the information as follows.

    Hi @Zyxel_Judy

on that site I have a firewall (Flex500) and 3 switches:

It seems strange to me that is not possible to have a complete list of IPs that I can retrieve using "Advance IP Scanner".

In that specific ORG I have also 2 NASes:

The red one has 2 NICs, but I can see only one IP.

The blu one has 4 NICs, but I can see only one IP.

    Hi @GiuseppeR ,

Even though there is a Nebula firewall at your site, your clients' IPv4 addresses are only displayed when there is traffic from those clients to the Internet or when those clients support LLDP.

Regarding your NAS devices, we assume that only one NIC has traffic to the Internet, while the other NICs do not have Internet traffic and do not support LLDP, so the IPv4 addresses for those other NICs are not displayed. Please check your clients to confirm this assumption.

    Hello @Zyxel_Judy

I tried to connect to these IPs (4 NICs on the same NAS):

    immagine.png

    to generate traffic:

    immagine.png

still no visible IPs for that Synology NAS inside Nebula:

    immagine.png

If I use Advanced IP Scanner, I can see every single IP in my network:

So… How can I see these infos without remote connecting on a PC inside that network and enabling a IP scan?

It is NOT possible to do this procedure in any circumstances, so that is a limit.

    Hi @GiuseppeR ,

As we mentioned previously, when the other three NICs do not have Internet traffic (the traffic do not go through the firewall, just go through switch) and do not support LLDP, the IPv4 addresses for those NICs are not displayed. This is the current behavior of Nebula.

We will note your request to display all client IP addresses and evaluate it carefully.
