Reading NSA310 HDD outside of NSA310

I have a NSA310, and I removed the HDD to store it for backups. I put a new HDD into the NSA310 and tried to read the old HDD in my Windows PC, but I cannot. I had to re-create shares on the new HDD in the NSA310, and I'm thinking the shares will not work with the old HDD.
How can I read the old HDD in a Windows computer?
