I've managed to upload the firmware (used my wife's MS laptop via ethernet, I had used my MacBook via Wifi earlier).  It has now connected on Vodaphone but have alternating amber/green LED

The LEDs you are seeing now seem to me to be a good sign, if you expect WiFi to be on.

I looked in the user guide at ftp://ftp.zyxel.com/LTE7480-M804/user_guide/LTE7480-M804_1.00.pdf and saw the following:


So the Green is good, and the Blinking Amber is also good for your WiFi to be on also. :-)
