I'm currently away on Vaca and just got a call from my employees stating they can not access the drive. I logged in remotely and it is no longer on the network. My employee physically checked the box and it seems that after turning on the power button it would blink once every 30 secs or so and nothing else would light up. It was set up as a raid 1 mirror so I'm sure at least one of the hdd should be ok if not both. It could be the nas itself has somehow failed. My question is if I upgrade to a NAS 326, can i just swap in the HDD from the 325?

Hi,
You can't put the HDDs directly from NSA325 to NAS326, they are using different format.
Try remove one of HDD and reboot again to see can the NSA325 v2 be accesible, if yes, remember to back data out.
And you could also move it into Linux PC and following following SOP to backup data.
