I have a feeling that my internet is being throttled and want to know if the provider will know if I change the firmware to Zyxel's latest  for my machine

    I think the traffic usage shall be controlled by the service provider instead of the function FW. Would you like to check with your ISP about your situation first?
    And, if your device is provided by an ISP, they can manage/remote your device FW status. They should know.
