Can I update my NSA320?

Firmware  updates ended in 2016 (.V4.70(AFO.3)). Are there any updates that I can download and install manually, please?

    Hi,
I think there is no new firmware of the device NSA320.
Is there some problem you met?
Maybe you can consider to buy a new NAS.

You can install Arch or Debian on that box.

    Hi Hill,
I have the same box (NSA320) and the problem is that Windows 10 has now switched to SMB2 from SMB1 for security reasons and Windows 10 will not let a user map a drive using SMB1 protocol.  I was wondering if the NSA-320s firmware would work as an update as it is available from Zyxel but I don't want to try it unless I know I won't lose my data.

Buying a new NAS isn't really a viable solution, also I really don't want to go through the 'faff' of installing FreeNAS or OpenNAS and risk losing 2TB of media files.

If that is the case you need a backup anyway. The disks in you NAS are sensitive mechanical devices, which will die, some day. And don't say you are safe, because of raid1. When the first disk dies, what are the odds the 2nd is almost dead? A lot of people lost their data that way.
