Get data out of a NAS disk

Options

I have the harddrive fra a Zyxel NAS with the space for one disk. The NAS is dead, but the harddrive seems okay. How can I access it? If I mount it in af USB harddrive case, Windows can see the disk in Disk Manager, but Explorer can't read it. I have tried to install Oracle VirtualMachine with Ubuntu, but that can't read it either.

Any good ideas?

Ubuntu should be able to read it. You did forward the USB port to the virtual machine, I suppose?
Can you boot Ubuntu with the disk connected, and post the output of

    cat /proc/partitions
    mount
    sudo fdisk -l

Your Ubuntu doesn't see the disk. So make sure you forwarded the USB properly.
