NAS 540 JBOD volume?

Hello,
I have a NAS540 and there are 4 Baracuda with 8TB each installed.
I am unable to combine all four HDDs into a JBOD volume with a usable capacity of approx. 29TB.
I can only create two volumes with just under 16TB each.
That would be okay, but then I can't access volume 2 via the network.

In the Owners Manual I found:
"The ZyXEL NAS540 offers no installed storage drives and has an installed storage capacity of 0TB. However, it is capable of supporting a variety of hard drives and offers a maximum storage capacity of 24 TB. With its RAID support, hot-swap drive bays and a powerful processor, the ZyXEL NAS540 is a solid option for storing and backing up data."

What do I have to do?
I would prefer a JBOD volume with four 8TB volumes and a resulting usable volume of approx. 29TB

Thank you and best regards,
Andreas

The volume limit is a filesystem limit. The used ext4 filesystem can only contain 2^32 sectors from 4KiB each, which is 16TiB. (Which is slightly bigger than 16TB).

That would be okay, but then I can't access volume 2 via the network.

Yes, you can. You have to create a share on that volume.
