NAS 542 Reset
Hi, I have a problem with my NAS 542, the reset button doesn't work. I can't connect and the disk 2 light is red. What can I do?

When you press the NAS reset button, you should see the NAS run a reset script if you have a console connected. If the reset button doesn’t work, there may be an issue with the hardware button. Have you ever encountered a power outage or shut down the device using unusual steps?

When nothing happens when pressing the reset button, you don't even hear any beeps. I can't connect to the NAS or find out what IP it has because the scanIP doesn't detect it. I don't know if there were any power outages lately because I was traveling. When I turned it off I always did it either from the console or from the button on the front of the NAS.

A little bit out of the original problem but is there any way to completely reset/erase the system since the reset button seems to only reset NAS settings while I would need to erase all data to factory defaults?

Um Daten zu löschen, löschen Sie einfach die Volumes.

Actually not. The user configuration is stored in a flash partition. So deleting the volumes will not delete the configution. And a factory reset won't delete the volumes.
As far as I know there is a factory reset option in the webinterface, which does the same as the reset button. But of course that doesn't help if you can't access it due to wrong network settings.
