Hi , I was thinking of buying the above but I have heard that it doesn’t work with the EE network, I live in Norfolk UK.

Thanks for any replies.

    Hi @Philindiss ,

Thank you for your interest in the Zyxel FWA710 mobile router.

    Before purchasing, we recommend you:

    1. Check EE network coverage in Norfolk (your area) using coverage websites/apps
    2. Contact EE to verify available bands in your area and choose them for your FWA710 configuration

Once you've confirmed suitable coverage, we welcome you to experience the FWA710 and our service.

    Judy

Hi, thanks for your reply, I do receive a strong EE signal loud and clear but it was this review that concerned me .

Lacks support for B3+B3+N1 used by EE

Reviewed by Tim Higgs - 04/10/2024

This was the first FWA710 I have installed for a customer. I have been installing NR7101 for rural broadband customers for a few years. The NR7101 works well however lacks remote management. The FWA710 adds support for Nebula cloud management (although at a cost). However the FWA710 appears to lack support for B3+B3+N1 NSA-5G on EE's network which means that I am unlikely to install this product again in the future unless it can support the same 4G and 5G bands as the NR7101 does. The problem is that the customer was surveyed with the NR7101 and had 5G but now installed with the FWA710 they are on 4G. Therefore instead of 150Mbps they are seeing 60-120Mbps. The FWA710 is a downgrade from the NR7101 in terms of 5G compatibility.

The price is also far too high as the FWA710 costs just over £100 more than the NR7103. However the NR7103 couldn't be used with EE due to lack of cloud management. But then the FWA710 doesn't support B3+B3+N1 so isn't fully compatible with EE's 5G. Such a shame that the NR7101 has been discontinued and Zyxel can't get this product right!

    Hi @Philindiss ,

Thank you for sharing the review.
We've checked EE's coverage in Norfolk and found that 5G availability varies by location.

While the scenario in the review may differ from your situation (we're not sure about that review), you can try the Nebula FWA710 if you can confirm strong EE 5G signal in your area.

We're here to support you if you need any assistance.

    Hi,

I assume from your username that you are close to Diss ;-)

I'm close to you - out towards Redgrave, and use an NR7101 on EE which does indeed aggregate B3 and N1 for 5G NSA. I too understand that the FWA710 does not offer N1 & B3 aggregation. It would be good if someone from ZyXel would confirm what channels the FWA710 can aggregates - it is intended as a replacement for the NR7101, but does appears to not offer some of what the 7101 does (I also think the 710 is a CAT19 device for 4G, whereas the 7101 is CAT20).

However, in your situation, even if the 710 cannot aggregate N1 with B3 on EE, it will still be capable of working on EE - you'll just be restricted to 4G, aggregating B3 and B20 channels (the EE channels you see mostly in use around Diss).

Hi , thanks for your reply, I can indeed receive a 5g signal at my location but I think I will keep what I have which is a 4g signal it averages around 120mbs using a LTE7490-M904 so it’s not too shabby.

    Hi @Zyxel_Judy,

Thank you for posting the 2CA list. Do you have a list for 4CA? On my NR7101 I normally have aggregation of B3+B3+B20+N1, but from looking at the FWA710 2CA list, N1 cannot combine with B3, and would not be able to achieve the same aggregation?

Better still, do you have a document that lists all the FWA710 aggregation combinations?

    Neil
