New version of NZBGet to old NAS (NSA325v2)
Hello experts,I have a problem with my NZBGet installed on an old NAS (Zyxel NSA325v2).
Zyxel no longer supports this old NAS, so I'm writing here.
The NZBGet version installed on the NAS is a real old version (11.0_arm) and does not work with newer NZB files where the password is already included in the NZB file.
To install a package on the NAS, I need to save the package in a special folder on the NAS drive (NAS\admin\zy-pkgs) and the package is a file with extension .zpkg, like “NZBGet_11.0_arm_004.zpkg “.
To make a long story short, only .EXE and .RUN files are available in the NZBGet download area. Is it possible to modify these files to work with my NAS? Simply renaming it doesn't work as expected.
Maybe you know how I can get the file I need, or have an idea how I can get the latest NZBGet version onto my old NAS.
Sorry for my English and best regards from Austria
Andrew

Did you try to execute the .run file on your NAS? It's a very interesting file. It is an install script, with a tarfile glued to the end, containing binaries for i686 x86_64 armel armhf aarch64 mipsel mipseb ppc6xx and ppc500. That's why it's that huge. The 'armel' version might fit your box, but I'm not able to see if it would actually install on your NAS.

Ho
How can I execute a .run file? There is no way to input a command line..
The installside looks like this

You can execute it from the command line. For that you need ssh access. Which can be problematic, as you didn't install the ssh server, and meanwhile ZyXEL has shutdown the package server.

Unfortunately ssh is not installed :(
Is it possible to download Zyxel packages from anywhere on the Internet?
Or maybe it is possible to create a package from the .run file?0 -

Yes, I have a backup here.
Using MetaRepository you can bypass the ZyXEL repo, and point it to the backup above.
Or maybe it is possible to create a package from the .run file?
That is certainly possible. You could exchange the binaries in the stock nzbget package by the onces from the .run file. Which doesn't give you a way to automagically install it, no more than the .run file does. And also repackaging doesn't make the binaries suddenly compatible. So you have to test first if the binaries will run on your box anyway, before trying to repackage them.
