Zyxel Nebula Control Center Release Note

Common NCC (Organization,Site-wide,etc.):

  1. Supports 2FA enforcement at the Org level. 

    Note: Zyxel accounts utilizing Google or Apple authentication are incompatible with 2FA enforcement at the Org level.
  2. Added Application chart in the client detail page when a Firewall with Application Patrol service is presented or an AP with CNP Plus license is active.

Wireless LAN (WLAN):

  1. Captive Portal now supports authentication utilizing Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD). (Nebula Pro Pack license is required)

    Note: 
        Support model:
            WAX510D, WAX610D, WAX630S, WAX650S, WAX655E, WAX620D-6E, WAX640S-6E, WBE510D, WBE530, WBE630S, WBE660S
  2. Supports WiFi 7 Smart Mesh using MLO technology.

Switching:

  1. Support new Switch model. The CX4800-56F is added to Nebula in this release.
  2. Configuration can be restored when a cloud-stacking switch slot is replaced with an identical model. (Nebula Pro Pack license is required)
  3. "Management Control" has been renamed to "Mgmt VLAN Control" for better clarity. By default, Mgmt VLAN is disabled in access mode to isolate management VLAN traffic, less chance of misconfiguration, and simplify network diagnostics, while trunk mode remains enabled for flexibility.



Security Firewall:

  1. When users adjust supported settings via the device’s local GUI on a USG FLEX H series Firewall, the changes will now sync automatically to the Nebula cloud. 
    Note: To initialize the configuration sync, you must upgrade device firmware to uOS 1.31 and access to Live Tool page in the Nebula portal, then click "Config Override".
  2. When Device HA is enabled through the device's local GUI on a USG FLEX H series Firewall, NCC will adjust secondary unit and consolidate the license onto the primary unit.
    Note: If your Pro/Plus pack organization downgrades to base pack or enters grace period since USG FLEX H series enables device HA, please contact @Zyxel_CSO for help.
  3. Added address and zone objects for USG FLEX H series.
  4. Added Port and Interface settings for USG FLEX H series
  5. Added Security Services for USG FLEX H series.
  6. Nebula VPN now supports USG FLEX H series.

  1. Added interface description to USG LITE series.

    On premises, if any device or module dies and is replaced with an identical model I can restore the previous config (if I had a backup). On Nebula, with cloud-stacking switches… needs a paid subscription?

    Azure ad Auth is not compatible with NWA-X,NWA-6E, NWA-BE series?????

It provides centralized monitoring, management, and automated configuration handling through the Nebula Control Center, enabling you to manage your stacked switches from anywhere.

    The configuration restoration feature for cloud-stacking is part of this advanced cloud management suite, which is why it requires a Pro Pack license. This ensures your configurations are automatically backed up, securely stored in the cloud, and can be seamlessly restored when needed.

    As my point of view, @Zyxel_Melen, onsite personnel for replacing the device is still necessary.

    Deliver a man with a laptop and a cellphone for remote deploy of the configuration (and a security-enabled personell for deploy) accomplish more or less the same workpower needed for use Nebula (a person for the hardware replacement, a person for the configuration restore).

    Without proper hotspare installed and plugged in… difference is laptop and smartphone (or out of band connection)

    Hi @mMontana,

    Nebula cloud stacking may face a situation where two individuals are needed: one for hardware replacement and another for configuration restoration. The point we implemented this functionality is to bridge the gap between Nebula and standalone mode.

    Cloud stacking, along with configuration backup and restoration in Nebula, comprises advanced cloud management features, which is why they require Pro Pack licenses. Additionally, the configuration restoration feature for cloud stacking is included as part of this service, so it also requires a Pro Pack license.

    We have initially rolled out Azure Active Directory authentication for the captive portal on our enterprise-grade NebulaFLEX Pro Access Points (APs), as we prioritize making this feature available to our enterprise users first.
