LTE5398-M904 don't see band 1 of TIM (Italy)

Hello, as mentioned by other users, the current LTE Module Version: EG18EAPAR01A12M4G , does not see the band 1 used by TIM (one of the main Italian ISP). Can you provide the file to downgrade to the EG18EAPAR01A08M4G ? Multiple users confirmed that the previous revision is free from this defect. Thanks.

    SOLUTION

    In case anyone has this great piece of hardware with the worst zyxel assitance, here the solution to get the band 1 aggregation:

    1 - get admin access through ssh (online you can find some guides);

    2 - follow these instructions https://forums.quectel.com/t/lte5398-m904-lte-module-eg18ea/44568

    3 - probably the terminal will not accept the command as described in the post, so you have to use this format

    command='AT+QMBNCFG="list"'

    4 - reset and reboot

    5 - enjoy

    In a nutshell, the rev 12 and 13 of the lte module have inside a profile of a telecom operator "Telenor_Norway_Commercial " that limit the aggregation, with these instruction that profile is removed.

    I already informed zyxel support, but a correct upgrade is not yet released….so this is how much they care for their cusotmers, perfect strategy on how to kill a good product.

    Very nice to be fully ignored by ZYXEL customer serice / assistance. The product has a clear defect because of the latest firmware (the band 1 is fully ignored / not usable) and the company doesn0t provide any assistance.
