out of production usg flex 200
Today i heard the usg flex 200 is out of production, and the EOL date is 2030. Is that correct. Wondering what's the follow up product of the flex 200. Off course you have the flex 200h, but that one is much more expensive, and maybe difficult to sell to our customers.
5 years and then EOL? that's a little quickly in my opinion.

Yes in that way you are right, but now we have to replace 100+ devices. And that makes it a little difficult for us. Whats the right decision. Go on with flex 200 or choose an other device

much more expensivenot ready yet, and maybe difficult to sell to our customers. The five more years of support for old model seem good, but for new devices we are in troubles.
I think that Zyxel, this time, did some mistake in developement plan.
Usually, when a model is relesed "in replacement of" another model, we take for grant that new model has same functionalities of old one. And, we hope, something more: we read some "what's new" doc.
Instead, for this series, we should look for a "what's less" doc. BTW, Zyxel doesn't publish such a doc.
How can, one, find what's removed?
Reality is: user (or reseller) buys new product, finds that something (working on previous model) is missing, asks here, support says "not yet implemented" "will be implemented in about an year" etc.
All this is not a support's fault, support guys here work well about cases. It's a wrong plan on development side.
In about an year (perhaps a year…)? If we need a device for a customer, we need that it works now. And we cannot replace a device leaving the customer without something that before was working.
We cannot say to a customer "I give you this device, within an year we'll be able to implement that network setup". I don't understand how Zyxel can consider this making any sense (give a device to a customer saying "in about an year we'll be able to", or worse "in about an year we'll be able again to").

If you browse sub-forums (one specific for "H series" and one "security ideas") you can find what others have discovered.
The latest I found:
The following (about FQDN object) has been fixed in November 2024, but I keep on thinking "and before?"
Who had been using these objects in previous version, how could do in the meantime?
I had a 200, I buyed a 200H, I was using FQDN… and until November 2024?
It's ok to continue development of a product after release, but it should be mainly for new features.
Basic ones should be completed before release.
As a user pointed out about missing routing protocols, when you buy a new car you don' check if it has axles, you take for granted that it has.

Hi @Dpj ,
USG FLEX 200 has been discontinued, but sales availability may vary by region. The expected end of life date is 2030.
The successor model is the 200H, and there are plans for upgrades to support the transition. If needed, our sales team can contact you and provide a relevant quote.

So I guess it's time to stock up on the FLEX series until 2030 and hope that the FLEX H series will be usable by then…
