NWA130BE: cannot connect to 6ghz

Hello,

I have a NWA130BE (latest V7.10 ACIL.2 firmware) in Nebula mode and trying to make its 6ghz radio work. I have configured a 6ghz-only ssid with WPA3 (tried both with and without transition mode). I have 3 clients, two Pixel 7a phones and an XPS 9315 Laptop. The phones don't see the ssid at all, the laptop temporarily sees it but cannot connect to it. The radio is configured in 802.11ax mode.

Is there a way to troubleshoot this issue? I was expecting Wifi 6E to be stable by now, it's strange that two different types of clients cannot connect to it.

Thanks in advance for your help!

    Hi @chatziko,

Could you help to check if the client's driver/version is up to date? And do you use PoE switch to power up your NWA130BE? If so, does this PoE switch support 802.3at mode? If not, the Wi-Fi function will be restricted.

Thanks a lot for the prompt response. The clients are fully updated (the Pixel phones run Android 15). The NWA130BE is powered by a 12V 2A power supply, in the control center I see " Power mode: Full(Power by DC)".

    Hi @chatziko,

Thanks for the update. Please also check if the configuration status is up to date. If so, please change your 6 GHz channel to 5 or 21 and try again. The SSID with a lower PSC can be found faster.

Thanks again for the suggestions. I tried both channels and made sure that the device appears as "up to date", unfortunately my devices still can't see the 6ghz-only ssid. Anything else I could try?

    Hi @chatziko,

Could you help to enable Zyxel support access so we can help to check the configuration and the WiFi beacon status? Also need the organization's name.

    Hi @chatziko,

Thanks for the privilege. I found that your AP's radio setting seems strange at 6 GHz.

The radio mode is 802.11ax. Could you change to "auto" or "802.11be" and check again?

    Hi @chatziko,

Both Pixal 7a and the XPS9315? Could you share the WiFi NIC info of XPS9315 with me? I need the NIC model name and driver version. Thanks!

    Yes.

    • Pixel 7a doesn't see the SSID at all
    • XPS9315 sometimes sees it but can't connect, sometimes doesn't see it at all.
