Why is zyxel nebula fwa510 noisy?

it makes sort of a fan noise, i have to turn it off at night for sleeping…

    I have the same problem. I bought it a couple of days ago. I came home from my trip. and I was setting up. after about an hour that was on. it started making this noise and it's quite annoying.

    Same here. Bought my NWA510 in December 2024. Need to switch it off almost every other night when the fan goes off. It happens like day or two after each reboot. Could you consider a new firmware fixing this issue? Or maybe there is some workaround via the command line interface with some parameter settings? I tried to set WiFi schedule to switch WLANs off for a while at 3:00 a.m., didn't help.

    Hi,

    My Zyxel router sounds like a thunderstorm, and the standard warranty expired on 2025-03-29.

    While you seem to offer a 2-year warranty, you have in another thread acknowledged that this specific issue is a pure hardware defect. As such, it should be considered present from the beginning, and therefore falls under the EU regulations on statutory warranty (3 years). It is this legal warranty I’m seeking assistance with.

    This is what appears when I try to create a service request:

    Warranty Expiration Date: 2025/03/29

    Model Name: FWA510

    As you have already acknowledged that this is a manufacturing defect, this falls under statutory warranty (consumer rights), not just the voluntary manufacturer's warranty.

    Under Swedish consumer law, I am not required to provide a receipt if the defect is acknowledged and falls within the statutory period. The product was activated on 2023/03/29. The two-year commercial warranty expired on 2025/03/29, but the statutory right to claim for defects ("reklamationsrätt") lasts for 3 years, until 2026/03/29.

    How should I proceed from here?
