NWA50 AX PRO - Cannot Upgrade from Standalone Drivers which limit connectivity?
Originally setup as standalone device.
Following initial enquiry as regards AP restricted to sub 10Mbps up and down with average Ping times of 11.25ms. Human engineer responded last week, " have reviewed the Nebula settings and made some adjustments to improve the wireless connection. Please check the updated status once your access point receives the new configuration from Nebula. It appears that the issue may be related to the Ethernet connection, which is currently operating at 100 Mbps. The router or the cable could be the cause of the network speed limitations you are experiencing."
The AP is being run on a Gigabit POE switch with CAT 7 cabling. So before I start physically dismantling parts of the network I bounced back a reiteration of the initial query. Just been having another look over the weekend.
I see now the GUI is offering up an increased (although still limited ) number of options. I was able to change the 2.4 Ghz Channel Width : from 20 MHz, to 40Mhz. The AP is running on a 5-Port Gigabit Switch POE. The ethernet cabling is CAT 7. The LED status is showing solid green, which suggests AP still on standalone drivers. It is also not possible to see the full driver description. Speedtest still showing remarkably consistent sub 10MBps.
Device appears to be in cloud mode but has not downloaded/applied the Nebula firmware (…C0N). I cannot trigger a firmware upgrade from Nebula (Organization → Firmware Management is Pro-only) and there is no public .C0N download visible on support site.
Is it possible provide the direct download link for the latest C0N firmware for NWA50AX PRO for EU/UK (filename expected NWA50AX_PRO_V7.10(ACGE.3)C0N.bin or later),
or remotely push the Nebula firmware to my device ,
or advise the supported method to force the AP to update to the Nebula C0N build without using a Pro license?
Cheers Trio

Hi @Riot_Jay
May you share a screenshot of the site-wide > device > AP page? I want to check if your AP is still having 100M uplink issue.
About the download speed issue, may I know:
- What is your topology?
- Did you set EEE on any link? If so, please disable EEE first since it could cause throughput issue.
- Did you set bandwidth control on any of devices?
To upgrade your NWA50AX PRO to the latest firmware, please navigate to Menu > Site-wide > configure > firmware management to select the latest firmware for your AP and select upgrade now to upgrade.

Hi Melen,
The problem stems from the fact we tried to setup this AP as standalone. Although Nebula registered, drivers have never been fully updated.
The NWA50AX Pro’s port is Gigabit, PoE and Cat 7.
The 100 Mbps reading is a symptom of the AP’s current standalone driver, not a wiring fault. (as suggested by your 1st line fob-off team).
The old firmware sometimes fails to negotiate 1 Gb full-duplex when it’s in half-cloud mode.
Once the C0N build is applied, the same cable and switch negotiate at 1 Gb automatically. After significant time and effort expended this end, Zyxel generic responses to keep you away from an engineer…I just want this driver firmware…
Please provide the direct download link for the latest C0N firmware for NWA50AX PRO for EU/UK (filename expected NWA50AX_PRO_V7.10(ACGE.3)C0N.bin or later
We only run two Zyxel APs, it's increasingly like it to be less.

Hi @Riot_Jay
The firmware download link is available on our official website:
https://download.zyxel.com/NWA50AX_PRO/firmware/NWA50AX%20PRO_7.10(ACGE.3)C0.zip
In addition, is it possible to enable Zyxel support access for me to take it a look?

Hi Melen,
Access is enabled, look at the GUI, it's heavily redacted and with limited or no facility to change any settings.

Hi @Riot_Jay
Let me help to set the firmware type to latest and upgrade at Nov. 07, 2025 2:00AM for Bureau de France.
By the way, I noticed Sherwood office AP has update to the latest firmware, but it still occurring the 10M/100M uplink issue. This is more likely the physical layer issue. Please try to:
- Check the link speed setting on the uplink switch. (If it is management switch) Please ensure the link speed is set to auto or 1000M/1G.
- Change switch port.
- Change cable.
- Change a switch.
Hope this helps.
