NWA50AX Network extention
Freshman Member
Hi all, firstly great product, i find the nebular interface really easy to use!
I currently have a NWA50AX managed by nebular, but the wifi signal gets a little touch and go towards the back of our property, Id like to extend this signal without running a network cable, what secondary unit would be a great adition? I understand that using the mesh system I can link a seconardy access point without a network cable? would another NWA50AX work well or is there better for signal? Ive also seen that ZYXEL do make an extender model would this work well using the mesh system? The info online is a little missguiding and ive had back experience in the past (pre zyxel) with extenders so looking for a solid system and any advice you can give me.
Thanks so much

Hi @jungle7895,
Welcome to the Zyxel Community!
If you'd like to extend coverage without running a cable, you can add a second AP and enable Smart Mesh in Nebula. Please refer to our FAQ guide for the configuration steps:
Please note that for smooth roaming, ensure there is about 15–20% overlapping coverage between the two APs.
You may add another NWA50AX, or consider other APs to see which better suits your needs and scenario. Most Zyxel AP models support Smart Mesh, so other models are feasible as well.
Also, just to clarify — as you're referring to a Zyxel "extender", which uses EasyMesh. This is a different mesh technology and is not compatible with the Smart Mesh used by NWA50AX.
