LTE7480 - M804 SIM is not detected

Hi All,

Hi, I have bought the router LTE7480-M804 and  I am trying to configure it, but I am some issues about the cellular SIM. Once I have started up the router, the system is not able to detect my SIM card. The status of the cellular SIM is  " Sim CARD is not detected".  The sim is perfectly working on my phone. I 've set up also the right APN.  My SIM is a 4g TIM   (APN  ibox.tim.it).
My current firmware version is 1.00(ABRA.1)C0 it seems to be the newest one.
Please, could u help me?

Hi @Luca_ita some italian YT made a extended review of this device, encountering the same problem. He was not owner of a TIM (italian mobile phone/internet provider) Sim Card, but following the comments under his video he had the same issue you encountered.

I home than now Zyxel can have the solution of the LTE part of the device for reading the chips provided by TIM. If not, the device in italy is completely out of market and should be avoided in any way.

LTE7490 is compatible with TIM SIM cards after software changes, see https://community.zyxel.com/en/discussion/comment/30100#Comment_30100

I wonder if the LTE7480 needs similar changes...

On Zyxel FTP Site the version available is the same reported by Luca_Ita (1.00(ABRA.1)C0), file date 8th february 2021, release note date 7th September 2020.

Changelog reported "SIM cards cannot be detected on LTE routers" on version  1.00(ABRA.1)B1, earlier than C0. No other version available on FTP.

Support center reports the same version.

IMVHO something is necessary to improve the device...

Hi @Luca_ITA

Did you reset the LTE7480 to default after upgrading the firmware?
The solution for SIM detection requires to reset to default in order to validate the solution.
