Can i connect my Multy X directly to my fibre ONT?

I have tried to connect my multy x directly to my fibre ONT box, but it does not connect - keeps blinking white. However , if i connect it via my current router (which is connected to the fibre ont box) it does seem to work. The current router is not that that fast and is causing a bottle neck / limit. is it possible to bypass the router and connect straight to the fiber box?

This should be asked to your ISP.

They told me this is "out of their scope". Do i need specific settings from them? Normally, is it possible to connect it directly? or do i still need a router in the middle?0

Again, it depends from the ISP. How the router you're using is configured as wan interface. And if the Multy X can mimic/replicate or be adapted to that configuration.

Hello @JC1
According to the Multy X specifications at https://www.zyxel.com/uk/en/products_services/AC3000-Tri-Band-WiFi-System-Multy-X/specifications it does not have a fibre interface. Therefore you cannot connect the Multy X directly to your fibre ONT.
The user guide at https://download.zyxel.com/Multy_X_(WSQ50)/user_guide/Multy%20X%20(WSQ50)_V2.0.0%20ed2.pdf shows how to connect it up.
I hope that this is helpful.
Kind regards,

Hi @JC1
You can refer to below article to complete installation on Multy X
https://community.zyxel.com/en/discussion/8677/multy-devices-reset-when-certification-authority-expired
If the Multy X is white blinking, it means the device is still in booting process, after boot up the Mutly X will keep in LED solid white.
Please wait for 10~15 minutes and check if the LED is still blinking white.
As you mentioned "I have tried to connect my multy x directly to my fibre ONT box, but it does not connect - keeps blinking white. However , if i connect it via my current router (which is connected to the fibre ont box) it does seem to work"
Do you reset the device before you put under the fibre ONT box?
Or you set up the Multy device under your current router and then move Multy device under the fibre ONT box after complete the installation?Engage in the Community, become an MVP, and win exclusive prizes!
