NWA130BE Ring Spotlight Cam Pro's will not connect to the WAP
Recently installed a new Zxyxel NWA130be access point outside on my back patio. I am planning to switch the entire house to these instead of 1 central AP. Everything works except my currently installed ring spotlight pro cameras I have attmepted to add to the network. I currently use the ring pro 2 door doorbell, the ring pro spotlight cams and gen3 stick ups and a ring pro flood.
Existing cams work flawless on the original AP router. They ring spotlight cam pros attempt to setup on the new AP regardless of if I create a New SSID or the old one regardless of which security protocol I setup and fail at 95% saying they cannot connect to wifi. I have even tried factory resetting some of them and even deleted them from my ring account and attempted to set them up on the new wifi AP.
What's odd is I had two brand new stick up cam battery gen3 in the box. I can set them up on the old wifi AP or the new wifi AP and swap them to which ever wifi AP or SSID I choose all day long.
I can also switch to either wifi AP with my ring pro 2 video doorbell and swap back to another ssid on either AP too.
The issue seems to be with the ring spotlight cam pros only. It's like regardless of a factory reset or deletong them and reinstalling it they are stuck/bound to the original AP and will not finish setup.
I have tried android phones, iphones, and an iPad. I have reset all.my network gear. I have done everything I can think of. The stickups and the door bell migrate back and forth instantly but the spotlights hang. I have not tried the flood pro yet but I assume it will do the same as the spotlights since the setup was pretty much the same.
Also, even after factory reset or deleting them the spotlights never "talk" during start up or setup. They do not say anything. They just flash their blue lights when I press the button for setup.
All the spotlights and the floods were purchased in late October of 2024. I am not sure if ring support can either help or swap them out. I would think they would be under warranty. I have 6 spots/floods so it's a big investment to scrap and keeping them on the original wifi AP or using extenders for them would be totally counter productive to what I am trying to accomplish.
Any Help would be appreciated.
Both wireless AP are broadcasting a dedicated 2.4ghz 20mhz channel width on channels 1 or 11. Both are using WPA2. Both can have any of the ring devices installed on them except for the spotlights(and possibly the flood light) FWIW i can get them to connect to the new wifi AP if make the SSID unsecured. It's not a signal strength issue either. The spots are pulled down and sitting 5 ft from the new AP and the doorbell cam is way far away and still connects to the new wifi AP.

Hi @TallyTexas ,
Based on your description, this appears to be a specific issue with your Spotlight Cam Pro. We recommend contacting Ring Support directly for assistance.
In the meantime, we can suggest a workaround: you can configure an open SSID and enabling the hidden SSID option.0 -
Thank you for your quick reply. I have reached out to Ring on the issue. The work around of a hidden SSID would be a good work around if I can do MAC filtering as a white list on the hidden SSID and do L2 isolation on that hidden SSID also.
