I'm having trouble getting a second NAS326 to be recognized by my workstation. I've followed the 3 steps then clicked the Start button on the screen. I press the button within 5 minutes displayed on the screen. I can't get the device recognized. I never get the Congratulations or Admin page button. Are there any special steps to adding a second NAS326? If not, how can I tell if the second NAS326 might be defective? I have both NAS connected to the router via a switch.

You should connect one, and change it's hostname in the webinterface, reboot it, check if it's recognized at his new hostname, and then add the second. Having 2 devices with the same hostname is asking for trouble.

    By connecting it alone.

  • WHAT IS A HOSTNAME EXACTLY? WHERE DO I CHANGE IT IN FIRST NAS WEBINTERFACE?

To change the name of the NAS. Click "Control Panel" under "System" there is an option for "Server Name". Rename the default Server Name "NSA326".
Save the change and reboot the device.
There should be two NASes online as they should have different server names.
