The data shows that the 2.4G channel utilization is at 82%, which is quite crowded

how is this possible - there seems to be no client connected to this AP

    Hi @maxna

The reason 8 of "Disassociated because sending STA is leaving (or has left) BSS" means that the device has been disconnected from the network because it initiated the disconnection process itself.

After setting the above suggestion, if the issue still persists, please collect the diagnostic information of the AP that the device is connecting to and share it with us via a private message. Below is the FAQ on how to collect it.

Additionally, please provide us with the affected client information, including the MAC address, connection time, SSID, and a screen recording showing the disconnection (if possible).

    Hi @maxna

Let me clarify clearer. This shows the whole environment of the channel that this AP is using. For example, if the AP is operating on channel 1, other devices such as routers, modems, etc., may also be using this channel.

can this be optimised by changing certain settings?

    Hi @maxna

To optimize the channel utilization, DCS feature is the best one to try. It allows the APs to automatically find a less-used channel within its broadcast radius at specific times on selected days of the week. I checked your site and noticed that you've applied DCS along with the recommended settings. How is the connection now?

Besides, here is a screenshot of your APs' status, showing which channels they are using and their utilization. Since the 2.4GHz band has only 11 channels, including non-overlapping channels (1, 6, and 11), it's important to avoid overcrowding. Also, keep in mind that the 2.4GHz band serves other purposes, such as microwave usage. Therefore, please consider redeploying the APs to avoid being too close together and to avoid placing them near microwaves. Additionally, encourage end devices to connect to the 5GHz SSID whenever possible.

The problem is on 5 GHz, wifi connection is good but they loose internet for a few minutes or so.
    Not overcrowded either.

Would it be worth it to try lowering from 40 MHz bandwith to 20?

    Hello @Magine_IT_Support2

Would it be worth it to try lowering from 40 MHz bandwith to 20?

⇒ Reducing the bandwidth from 40 MHz to 20 MHz on the 5 GHz band can help minimize interference and improve signal quality. This can be useful if you're experiencing slow speeds or frequent disconnections. However, note that it may also lower the maximum achievable speed. It's a good idea to monitor your network performance after making the change and adjust the bandwidth settings as needed.

Regarding your client losing internet, when the issue occurs again, could you please try connecting a laptop or PC to the relevant SSID and perform a ping test (ping 8.8.8.8)? This will help determine if the issue is related to the wifi connection or the uplink.
