Happy owner of a WBE600s AP, it is impossible to update the firmware to its latest version!
In add, I noticed on the forum that some users were having difficulties with version 7.20.When is it? Should I wait for a new patch? Why can't I install 7.20?

Thanks in advance for your answers.

I have ignored the update as I have to many old devices which not have WPA 3 - so far have no problem with continuing using firmware 7.2.
I have one WBE 660 and 6 NWA 130 in my network.
For example some older iPad Pro do not have WPA 3 and as well temperature measuring devices.

    Hi @DGOM,

Regarding the firmware upgrade, you can try the following official methods:

If the issue still occurs after trying these methods, we’ll need a bit more detail to understand what’s happening on your side. Please send us the following via private message so we can investigate further:

    • Your network topology when doing firmware upgrade.
    • Any error messages you encountered during the failed update (screenshots are welcome).
    • A full video recording of the entire firmware upgrade process, so we can clearly see what happens.
    • Diagnostic information exported from the local GUI. Please refer to this FAQ.

With this information, we’ll be able to assist you more effectively.

    Hi,

I have some old devices, so should I keep the current version? It's strange not to ensure backward compatibility for the protocols in the new version of the firmware, right?

To update this Wi-Fi access point over the web, do I need to open a specific port on the router? I don't see any details about this in the tutorials that were sent.

Thanks in advance for your answers.

    Hi @DGOM,

Generally, we recommend users keeping their devices updated with the latest firmware version to benefit from improved features and security.

When upgrading the firmware via GUI, if your computer is directly connected to the device, there is no need to rely on special protocols or open any specific ports. Manually upload the firmware file following the standard upgrade steps, which typically works smoothly.

However, if you encounter any issues during the update process or other related problems, please feel free to let us know. We are happy to assist further.

    Hi @Zyxel_Tina ,

I tried the 3 methods and none of them worked. The wbe660S launches the update process, reboots, but the firmware remains at version 7.10!

    I am desperate 😢

    Hi @DGOM,

Regarding the firmware upgrade failure, could you please first ensure that the PC and AP are on the same subnet and send us the diagnostic info file (after the upgrade failure) from the local GUI via private message so we can investigate further. For collecting instructions, kindly refer to this FAQ.
