FWA515- how to separate 2.4ghz and 5ghz wifi bands?
Freshman Member
Hi,
I've just purchased a FWA515 5G router and out of the box, the router only shows 1 combined wifi network in the router settings. I wish to separate the 2.4ghz and 5 ghz network but it seems i need to switch off both MLO and Mesh settings in order to do this:
However i cannot find the 'mesh'setting anywhere ? I can see a MLO setting but no mesh setting. I've already created a ticket but unfortunately the support agent hasn't been very helpful. Thank you.

Hi @psychopomp1,
Welcome to Zyxel Community!
The FWA515 does not support mesh networking. The message you are seeing regarding "MESH or MLO" is a generic notice.

Thanks Zyxel_Tina. So even though MLO setting is off, why is the switch to separate the networks is still greyed out? How do I separate the 2.4ghz and 5ghz wifi networks?

Hi @psychopomp1,
To assist you more effectively with the investigation, could you please provide the current running configuration file of your device?
The backup configuration file path: Maintenance > Backup/Restore and press Backup button
Thank you for your cooperation:)

Thanks Zyxel tina, that has fixed it. However could you permanently fix this bug in the next firmware release? I believe the firmware on the FWA515 is still the initial (first) release. Thanks again!

Hi @psychopomp1,
Thanks for your feedback!
This issue may not be included in the immediate next firmware release but is expected to be fixed in a future update. Since your configuration has been adjusted, upgrading to the next release should not cause any problems. You will still be able to configure 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz settings separately.
