I noticed something mysterious and disturbing about my Zyxel FWA710: I found the old FW V1.20 installed when I upgraded to V1.60 a few weeks ago!!!

Well... I also searched the Nebula Cloud services to see if there was something that for some reason had automatically installed 1.20, but I didn't find anything.

Has anyone ever experienced something similar?

My FWA505 was downgraded from v1.60 to v1.19 because the first release of v1.60 was bugged.

Later, a patched version (v1.60(ACKO.2)) was released and I was able to upgrade again.

You should check on Nebula Cloud if a newer firmware version is available for your FWA710.

    Hi,

mmmhhhh I'm not sure this is the rational: the last version is always the FW Version "FWA710 V1.60(ACGC.1)C0". If there is a problem with this version, remove it from the downloadable versions. I installed it again, let's see what happens.

However thanks for the information, it seems to exist a services that downgrade the firmware if necessary.

    Ciao, Luca

    Hi @Luca_G

Could you help to enable Zyxel support access so we can help to check?

FWA710 doesn't encounter the issue that @Daniel_505 mentioned, so the firmware of FWA710 should not be scheduled for previous firmware.

Only a Question: I use the FWA710 to Work, it's absolutely important not to have disservices during your checking. is that so?

    Hi @Luca_G

It won't have disservices during the checking since we only check the logs.

    Hi @Luca_G

You can ensure that Nebula will not downgrade your FWA710 since the firmware is latest version. We checked the logs and found that Nebula push firmware upgrade to this device at 2025/11/24 01:02:05 and the firmware version is V1.20. May I know last time you upgrade firmware is from Nebula or from local?

    Hi,

I only upgrade from local, I've never made an upgrade using Nebula!

I can tell you that I reinstalled version 1.60 around December 10, 2025. I don't remember the exact day now but it was roughly around that time.

    Grazie ciao Luca

    Hi @Luca_G

Thank you for confirming that you only upgrade firmware locally.

Based on our investigation, this downgrade occurred due to a timing issue in our firmware release process. The V1.60(ACGC.1)C0 was made available on our download library before being released on Nebula. When you manually upgraded to V1.60, Nebula hadn't yet recognized it as the latest version, which caused the system to push V1.20 to your device.

I apologize for this inconvenience. I have escalated this matter internally to ensure better synchronization between our download library and Nebula firmware releases going forward.

Your device is now stable on V1.60, and you can be assured this will not happen again.
