My DualWAN router Draytek Vigor 2960 has the IP 10.0.1.108 (static IP) and pings every 15 seconds the Zyxel antenna 10.0.1.1 to reach 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4 to decide whether the WAN1 can stay up or goes down.

Receiving an DHCP Address on the Draytek from Zyxel also did not help. The LAN failures occure anyway.

During the Zyxel LAN failure I tried: reboot the Draytek, replacement with an identical Draytek. It did not help. Only rebooting or repowering the Zyxel helped to restore the Zyxel LAN.

Very strange was the fact that the Zyxel FWA710 could reach 8.8.8.8 but the LAN was down. This fact I checked in the Nebula.

    Hi @mrtvu

Thanks for the details! Could you help to enable Zyxel support access for us to investigate this issue further?

You may reference this FAQ to enable it.

    Thanks!

The Zyxel support access is already enabled.

Take a look at this discussion:

After many days of watching, testing and replacing of almost all hardware and software options, I have found the troublemaker:

The LAN cable was to tight pressed into the socket of the Zyxel FWA710.

I removed a big part of the kink protection of the cable and cut a big cone of the rubber at the LAN connection, so that the cable wasn't tightly pressed anymore into the socket.

The speed drops from 1000 to 100 MBit/s and the regular LAN disconnections stopped since I have done this.

I also have the same issue, I’ve been looking for the answer for some time now. I’ve spoken directly to Zyxel on the phone numerous times, but still no solution.

What’s the point in paying £500 for 5G unit if it doesn’t work properly and no one can solve the issue, its frustrating to say the least.

Even if you leave it on auto switch 4g/5g, as soon as the issue occurs, it doesn’t switch. But as it was stated before, for some reason it does appear to maintain the WAN connection.

If it’s left on 4g only the issue goes away but then you are left with 4g speeds, so could end up going from 200-300mbps DL to sometimes less than 20 DL on 4g.

It would be great if this problem could be solved finally and I’m glad to hear that it’s a common issue, although I’m annoyed for everyone experiencing it
